You Affect Me

You touched my hand

            I pulled

                        away.

                        Yet your essence

            pulled me

back.

Something about you

            enticed me,

            so I stayed.

Our feelings

            grew

stronger each moment.

                        And each moment

            my heart

            in my chest.

I took

            a walk in the dark,

                        to find some light

            in the form

of you.
